The viewer is at the center of a scene, with the ability to "look" (pan) left or right in that view. The panorama is 360º but can be less so it becomes a "wide-angle" scene. As an example, standing in the middle of a room, you will get a full 360º view of the entire room. VR Objects, on the other hand, allows you to click on the object and move it, like it was on a turntable, so you can see all the sides of it.

VR Panoramas are created by taking a number of digital still photos of the scene. The photos are uploaded into a computer and "stitched" or joined together with special software to form a continuous and seamless panorama image. The image is digitally edited to ensure uniform quality and HTML and Java code is created to control the display.

VR Panoramas are usually displayed on a web page using either a Java applet or a QuickTime plug-in. The choice of delivery depends on your specific needs since there are different advantages based on the format used. For example when using a Java Applet to display and control the panoramic image, HTML code needs to be written to implement the applet. When this HTML code is inserted into the web page where the panorama is to be displayed and the browser opens the page, the applet is automatically loaded and the panorama is displayed on the screen. No special plug-ins are required if the viewer's browser is capable of supporting Java.
